  Australian Cockroach

Thailand

The Australian Cockroach is one of several species of cockroach commonly found in Thailand and which is, along with other species, generally known as malaeng saab.

This winged species grows up to 6.5 centimeters in length, has spiny legs, and little claws on its feet, which allow it to climb walls. It also has extremely large antenna, usually a bit longer than the size of its body. It is dark brown with a beige margin on the thorax and similar coloured streaks at its sides, near the wing base. Despite its name, this species is believed to have originated in Asia, and is an introduced species in Australia.
