The inside of the focal building of Bagaya Kyaung, a 16th century AD wooden monastery in Inwa, consists of two cool and dark halls, used for prayer, study and meditation.

 

The halls are connected to each other by doorways with posts and lintels richly decorated with wood carvings of peacocks and lotus flowers.
