Chulachomklao Fortress in Samut Prakan dates from 1893 and its oldest part is located on Phi Seua Samut Island in the Chao Phraya River.

Part of the fortress today is a newer naval base, located to its South, on the West bank of the river near the Gulf of Thailand. The new part also features the Chulachomklao Battle Ship Museum (fig.).
