  Eurasian Jay

An Eurasian Jay, belonging to the subspecies Garrulus glandarius leucotis (fig.). It has a black hindcrown and sub-moustachial, and a white forecrown streaked with buffish-grey.

 

Whereas the upperparts are dark buffish-grey, the underparts are more light buff. The head-sides and throat are white. The legs and feet are light pink and the bill is grayish-black.

The outer-wingfeathers have a distinct ‘Scottish’ pattern with black and barred blue. The vent and under-tail are white, the upper-tailfeathers black.
