VENOMOUS! This cone snail has a venomous sting, that injects a strong neurotoxin. Severe envenoming is possible and potentially lethal. Besides local pain at the place of the sting, it may also cause headache, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, tachypnoea, respiratory distress, dizziness, collapse or convulsions, and hypotension, associated with rapid development of major, potentially lethal, flaccid neurotoxic paralysis. All cases should be treated as urgent and potentially lethal. There is no known antivenom!
