  Greater Coucal (immature)

An immature Greater Coucal, near the Yamuna River in Agra. Unlike adult birds (fig.), its eyes are not red, its bill is light in colour, and its legs and feet are dark greyish rather than blackish.

 

Juveniles also have whitish spots on the crown, blackish bars on the back and wings, and buff to brownish bars on the underside and tail.
