  Hien Luong History Museum

The Hien Luong History Museum, located at the northern bank of the Ben Hai River in the Demilitarized Zone of Quang Tri is named after the Hien Luong Bridge which was a DMZ landmark (fig.) and the official border between the North and South at the 17th Parallel (fig.).

 

This small museum is almost entirely devoted to the Second Indochina War, which after the US got involved became locally known as the American War or the Resistance War against America.

The war ended in a North Vietnamese victory with the fall of Saigon, and eventually led to the reunification of North and South Vietnam (fig.).
