  Kinnari Statue

This bronze statue, on a roundabout in Ayutthaya, which is surrounded by eight bronze figures of Gajasingha (fig.), i.e. mythological lions with the head of an elephant, depicts three Kinnari, i.e. female mythical beings that are half-bird half-woman (fig.), holding up a fourth Kinnari (fig.), who has one arm raised and is holding a lotus flower in the air.
