  Lay Myat Nar Phaya

Myanmar

Lay Myat Nar Phaya is the name of a Buddhist temple in Bago, which houses four large Buddha images standing back to back and facing the four directions, reminiscent of those at Ananda Phaya in Bagan (fig.).

The compound also has a garden with 28 Buddha images, i.e. the historical Buddha Siddhartha Gautama and the 27 buddha's who preceded him, each one seated in meditation and with a  mudra known as bhumisparsa.
