  Mingun Bell

Mingun Bell, one of the largest ringing bells in the world. It was cast between 1808 and 1810, to be used in the Mingun Pahtodawgyi Pagoda (fig.). It weighs 55555 viss, i.e. a Burmese measurement that equals 90 ton and 719 kilogram, and of which 5 times the digit 5 was considered to be a lucky number in astrology. This number is painted in white on the front of the bell, in Burmese numerals.
