Pariah Kites, which are also known as Small Indian Kites, are a subspecies of the Black Kite, and are often found in areas with a high human population.

 

One such place is New Delhi in India, which after a survey in 1967 claimed to have about 2,200 pairs.

There, these birds of prey can be found either perching on manmade objects or in trees, or soaring in the sky (fig.).
