A stucco decoration on the eastern gable of the most prominent pagoda at Wat Phra Sri Mahathat in Sukhothai. It shows the Phrasut or birth of the Buddha. The second figure from the right is Maha Maya, the mother of prince Siddhartha, who holds on to a branch of a tree. According to some this tree is a sala tree, though other sources mention a teak tree (fig.) or an ashoka tree.
