  prasat

Prasat is the Thai term for a palace of a king or god, in which the tower represents mount Meru, both in religious and secular context. The term means 'ornamental structure with a needle-like spire'. It also appears in the name of such palaces, yet refers, in Thailand to the entire building, rather than just the tower.
