  Shanghai Tower

China

The Shanghai Tower in Shanghai stands 632 meters high. To the left are the top floors of the city's previous record holders for tallest building, i.e. the Jin Mao Tower (fig.) with a height of 421 meters and ‒here seen behind it‒ the 492 meter tall Shanghai World Financial Center, though both are now dwarfed by the newest giant kid on the block (fig.). In this August 2014 picture, the building is not yet completed (fig.) and at the top a crane can be seen hoisting building materials, here seen dangling to the left of the building.
