Stone Forest, known is a 12 km² large limestone gorge and rock garden near Kunming, in China's Yunnan province.

The area has several pathways and a mountaintop pavilion, allowing for the limestone cliffs to be admired from above, as well as from ground level.

This extraordinary natural attraction, known in Chinese as Shi Lin (石林 - in the top photo written in traditional script from right to left), was once covered by sea.
