  Wichai Prasit Fort

Thailand

Wichai Prasit Fort is now part of the naval base of the Royal Thai Navy in Thonburi and a statue of King Taksin, taken from a shrine in the king's former palace (fig.), now stands at the riverfront, near the gate (fig.) of the former Royal Thai Naval Academy.

The old fort, as well as Phra Rachawang Deum, i.e. the ‘Former Palace’ or Thonburi Palace, are both located next to Wat Arun, i.e. the Temple of Dawn (fig.), and as a naval camp, it is guarded by soldiers of the Royal Thai Navy.
