bot
or
ubosot, is where monks are ordained and is built
centrally on
sacred ground within a Thai
wat.
The building resembles a
viharn
but is marked with eight
bai sema thus distinguishing it.
Inside, monks gather for prayer and it holds the Temple's most important Buddha images
(fig.). |
