Draping cloth, usually saffron coloured, on to Buddha images is called
hom pah. The picture shows a piece
of cloth draped over the
shoulder of a bronze image, in
Ayutthaya style, from Petchaburi.
The image is standing in the pose of the calming of the waters, a
mudra
known as
abhaya with both hands raised. |
