Sesame seeds balls are a Chinese pastry, known in Mandarin as ma tuan, or  jian dui. These fried and chewy balls are made from sticky rice flour and coated with sesame seeds.

 

On the inside the pastry  is hollow, due to the expansion of the dough. Outwardly, the balls strongly resemble the Thai candy kanom nga (fig.).
