In takraw, players may use any part of the body except their hands and forearms, to hit the ball and drive it over the net (fig.).

 

In competition players are hence regularly seen making acrobatic jumps (fig.).

They often leap upside-down in order to hit a high ball with their feet.

 

The high angle allows for the ball to be smashed on the field of the opposite team with a greater force.
