A bronze statue of Qin Shi Huang Ti wearing a mian (fig.). He is the first emperor of an imperial and unified China. Though infamous for his cruelty, he is accredited for numerous gigantic projects, including the construction of the Great Wall of China (fig.), an extensive national road system, and the Qin mausoleum guarded by a life-sized army of Terracotta Warriors (fig.).
