  Chinese ancestral tablet enshrining ceremony

China

Monks in Guangzhou (China) conduct a ceremony in which family members come to enshrine a Chinese ancestral tablet of a deceased relative in the temple's communal cenotaph.

In the middle of the altar room stands a statue of Ti Tsang (fig.), the Chinese bodhisattva of hell beings, who is known in Sanskrit as Ksitigarbha.
