kalae is
a typical ornament often seen on gabled rooftops of traditional houses in
Northern Thailand (fig.).
The kalae possibly originated from the remnant piece sticking out from
rooftops near the ridge of simple huts (fig.)
where the beams of the roof cross (fig.). |
