Adult Coppersmith Barbets have dark green upperparts, a yellow throat and head-sides, a black eyestripe and submoustachial stripe, and pale greenish underparts, streaked with dark green. The crown is red at front and black towards the rear. They also have a red breast-band.

This one, taking off from a tree branch like a winged torpedo, was spotted in Phitsanulok.
