The
Cream Fruit or Spider Tresses, also known as the Indian
Rubber Vine and Poison Arrow Vine, is an erect shrub, that grows up to around 5 metres tall and
with the botanical name Strophanthus gratus.
It bears whitish flowers with a purplish blush, especially on the underside, as well as a deep purple centre. The thick leaves are elliptical to ovate, and in Africa used as a folk medicine against snakebites.
