Dusit Maha Prasat,
a Throne and Audience Hall, which is
located within
the compound of the
Grand Palace in
Bangkok,
and which principle
function is to house the deceased kings and members of the
royal family when Lying-in-State.
The hall houses
Phra Racha Banlang Pradap Muk,
a throne inlaid with
Mother-of-Pearl
and surmounted by the Nine-tiered White Umbrella of State (fig.).
When the king Lays-in-State, a
Buddha image
is placed on this throne. |
