A
Greater Mouse-deer is a Southeast Asian
mammal which is neither a mouse nor a
deer. It differs from a
Lesser Mouse-deer (fig.) by the dark
shades around the nose, eyes and ears, as well as some other, less
noticeable features.
It has the size of a small dog, with fairly thin legs, that look somewhat out of proportion with the size of its body. Notice also the enlarged upper canine of this male.
