Jayavarman VII
Statue of the Khmer King Jayavarman VII, who was a paramasaugata, i.e. a devout Buddhist. His name is a compound of the words jaya and varman. Angkor Thom (fig.), with its impressive Bayon Temple (fig.), was built during his reign.
