Although their diet consists largely of nectar, this still immature Plain-throated Sunbird, which is also referred to as Brown-throated Sunbird, uses its curved bill to pierce a rambutan in order to get to the fruit's sweet and succulent flesh.

 

It has left the fruit with a large gaping hole, that in turn attracts wasps and others to feast on it. See also List of Thai Animal Names.
