  Canton Tower

The Canton Tower in Guangzhou is a multipurpose observation tower that opened to the public on 1 October 2010. This landmark building is 604 meter tall and at night displays changing patterns of lights in various colours, putting on a lightshow that can be witnessed from far and wide. It briefly held the title of tallest tower in the world, but by 2021 ranked as the 4th tallest freestanding structure in the world.

 

This bright hourglass-shaped high-rise is located on the south bank of the Zhujiang River, also referred to as the Canton River and Pearl River, and is one of the key attractions for the many river boats that organize daily leisurely evening cruises.
