The Chatuchak Weekend Market in Bangkok, offers anything from foodstuffs to wild animals, furniture and clothing. The market, which boasts over 15,000 shops and attracts approximately 200,000 visitors daily, and is hence much larger than its Minburi branch (fig.).

It has a significant section dedicated to live pet sales. On the night of June 12, 2024, a fire broke out in the Pet Zone, destroying 118 shops and tragically killing around a thousand animals.
