has a grayish brown scaled head, reddish brown upperparts with white
barring, lighter underparts, yellow-black eyes and a yellow beak. It is the
smallest owl in Asia, with a height of around 15 centimeters and weighing
about 60 grams. In Thai it is named
nok khao khrae,
