  Emerald Pool and Blue Lagoon

Thailand

The Emerald Pool and Blue Lagoon are located in the forest of Khao Phra-Bang Khram (เขาประ-บางคราม), a nature reserve in Krabi's Khlong district, which is part of the Thung Teao Forest Park, known in Thai as Pah Thung Tiaw (ป่าทุ่งเตียว).

Whereas the Emerald Pool has lots of algae and is of a greenish colour, the Blue Lagoon, also referred to as the Crystal Pond, is bluish in colour.

While the algae and muddy bottom of the green Emerald Pool prevents people from entering it, in the more attractive Blue Lagoon many visitors take a swim or go bathing.

To reach these natural freshwater lakes, visitors to the nature reserve can choose between a larger dirt road and an elevated concrete nature trail.
