  Greater Flamingo (juveniles)

PREVIOUS BIRD NEXT BIRD Thailand

Juvenile Greater Flamingoes are mostly brownish-grey, with dark streaks on the scapulars and coverts, and lighter underparts. The neck is shorter than that of adults and the bill is pale greyish, also with a restricted blackish tip, while the legs and feet are dark brownish-grey.

The juvenile in the picture above is already changing its plumage into that of a young adult, and the baby bird in both photos is also overall greyish, but still too young to have the plumage as described for juveniles. See also List of Thai Animal Names.
