Mwe Phaya is a Buddhist temple (fig.) at Myitnge near Mandalay which features countless Buddha images.  with a bhumisparsa mudra while seated on the coiled body of the snake Muchalinda, which is using its head to cover the Buddha against the rain, as well as statues of snakes (fig.).

There are also some unique Buddha images in which the Buddha is depicted with a snake coiled on his head and around his body.

 

In Thai, this pose with Buddha statues seated on an overarching naga are referred to as pahng nahg prok (fig.).
