To commemorate the opening of the 8.9 km Din Daeng-Ta Reua (ดินแดง-ท่าเรือ) section of the First Expressway in Thailand, on 29 October 1981, which will later be expanded to become the 27.1 km Chaleum Maha Nakhon Expressway, in Thai known as Thahng Duan Chaleum Maha Nakhon (ทางพิเศษเฉลิมมหานคร), with the 7.9 km Bang Nah (บางนา)-Ta Reua section, opening in 1983, and the 10.3 km Dao Khanong (ดาวคะนอง)-Ta Reua section, which was inaugurated in 1987.
