Khao Sok National Park in Surat Thani covers an area of about 738 kmē, a large part of it being Chiaw Lan Reservoir (fig.), here seen at the Ratchaprapha or Chiaw Lan Pier at Ratchaprapha Marina, near the Ratchaprapha Dam (fig.) the official boat landing and one of several entrances. Some effigies of animals that occur in the park, such as these Great Hornbills (fig.), welcome visitors.

There are also some pictures of interesting features in the reserve, such as of the giant Rafflesia (fig.), that are hung from a line with clips similar to pics drying in a photography dark room, displaying some of the park's highlights.
