  Long-tailed Minivet

A male Long-tailed Minivet spotted near Nawal Parasi in southern Nepal. It has a black head and upperparts, and red underparts.

 

In addition, the long tail, rump and wings also have patches of red. It is similar to the Scarlet Minivet (fig.), but has a longer tail and a red line on the tertials.

The red line on the tertials is connected to the red patch on the black wings, making the red patch U-shaped.
