  Mani People

 

Thailand

A group of dark-skinned, curly-haired Mani people, who also call themselves Maniq and Mani Pah, are more widely known by the name Sakai, amongst others. The Mani people live only in southern Thailand and are related to the Orang Asli of Malaysia. In Thailand, there are about 300 Mani people, divided into 4 different clans.

 

This specific group of Mani was seen in the southern Thai province of Satun and belongs to the Taenhen clan, which lives in the Banthat Mountain Range.
