  Painted Copperleaf

Painted Copperleaf is an evergreen plant or shrub with the botanical name Acalypha wilkesiana and also commonly known in English as Jacob's Coat or Beefsteak Plant.

 

This shrubby plant with a compact foliage grows up to 5 meters tall and is typically used as an ornamental garden plant, as well as in shared edges. It has colourful curly leaves and small inconspicuous dark-red flowers, that are arranged in clusters on cylindrical catkin-like racemes of between 10 and 20 centimeters in length and partly hidden in the foliage. In Thai, it is known as hoo plah son.
