  Pakokku Bridge

With a length of 3,400 meters, that is 4,000 meters including the ramp and 6,170 meters including the run-up rise for the train on either side, the Pakokku Bridge, is the longest bridge across the Irrawaddy River (fig.), as well as the longest bridge in Myanmar.

 

  Pakokku Bridge

 

It is located about 30 kilometers northeast and upstream of Old Bagan and has has both a motorway and a rail track. It is named after the town of Pakokku, which is situated on its northern bank. The bridge was inaugurated on 1 January 2012.
