Pha Taem National
Pha Taem National Park in
Ubon Ratchathani covers a total area of
340 square kilometers and has many attractions.
The picture above shows Sao Chaliang,
i.e. natural rock formations in the shape of mushrooms,
and the photo on the right features Hin Taek, a hill
known as the Broken Rock.
The park is named after a steep cliff from which the earliest sunrise in the country
can daily be observed...
this, it has a cave and a walking trail, that leads to a series of
prehistoric paintings, which are estimated to be between
1,000 and 3,000 years old.
The paintings, all in a rusty red
colour, are found on the lower base of the cliff along
river. They include aquatic animals and
mammals, as well as some other objects.
