  Breguet 14 B2 (license-built at Don Meuang)

A French Breguet 14 B2 reconnaissance and bomber aircraft on show at the Royal Thai Air Force Museum (fig.).

 

In the 1920's, this aircraft was license-built in Siam (fig.) and fitted with Renault engines.

When prices for the French imported engines soared, the search to use alternatives led to a bed aircraft being built to try out the replacement engines.

 

This then eventually resulted in the construction of an own Siamese airplane, called the Boriphat (fig.).
