  Southeast Asian Toad

 

Skin secretes batrachotoxin, an extremely potent cardio- and neurotoxic steroidal alkaloid, very poisonous and deadly if ingested or enters bloodstream! No known antidote!

A Southeast Asian Toad, which is also known as Common Asian Toad, spotted in a lotus pond in Bangkok. Above, it is generally buff to brown in colour, though there is considerable colour variation and some species are darker or have brownish patterning on the back.

 

The underside is of a much lighter colour, almost white, and the feet are not webbed. See also List of Thai Animal Names.
