  Suan Pakkad Palace

Thailand

Suan Pakkad Palace in downtown Bangkok is the former royal residence of Chumphotphong Boriphat, i.e. the Prince of Nakhon Sawan and son of Boriphat Sukhumphan (fig.), as well as a grandson to King Rama V. Prince Chumphotphong was one of Thailand's leading art collectors.

This former royal residence in Phayathai district consists of five Reuan Thai, i.e. wooden houses built in traditional Thai style and usually raised on stilts, as well as a beautifully kept garden. Now a museum, it houses a large collection of Asian art and antiques.
