Oblique Striped Fruit-piercing Moth

Common designation for a species of moth in the Noctuidae family, with the scientific names Eudocima hypermnestra and Phalaena hypermnestra. Its forewings are olive green with white smudges, resembling a mildew infested leaf, whilst the hindwings are orange with some black spots and a black border that increases in width towards the apex. The body is mainly orange at the lower back of the abdomen, whereas the colour becomes gradually similar to that of the forewings towards and on the head. It has large, dark eyes. In Thai, it is known as phi se muan wahn khiht chiang (ผีเสื้อมวนหวานขีดเฉียง).
