reua sangkasih (เรือสังกะสี)
Thai. ‘Zinc boat’. Name for a toy boat
made from tin, in Thai actually called
dihbook,
while tin toys are in Thai known as khong len dihbook (ของเล่นดีบุก),
though they are
usually referred to as khong len sangkasih, i.e. ‘zinc toys’. Besides
this, tin boats, are also referred to as
reua pokpaek. Toy tin
boats were publicized on a stamp as part of a set of six Thai postage
stamps on zinc toys, issued in 2010
(fig.).
