Vinh Trang Pagoda near My Tho was built between 1848 AD and 1850, on a ca. two hectares large plot of land located along the Bao Dinh canal in My Hoa village, near My Phong town.

This Buddhist temple was damaged on several occasions, mainly due to warfare and natural disasters, and ‒besides being in disuse for a while‒ it was also reconstructed and renovated a number of times.

 

Besides the large courtyard statues of Maitreya, Kuan Yin and the Sakyamuni Buddha, the temples' key attraction is its outer gates, that are each adorned with motifs and figurines made of intricate inlay of glass and pieces of ceramic.
