The gular pouch of a female Wreathed Hornbill is blue with a blackish lateral streak on the underside, whilst its neck and head is black.

The gular pouch of a male is yellow, also with a blackish lateral bar on the underside, and its throat and head-sides are brownish white, whilst it also has a shaggy, brown, mane-like crown, that runs to the back of the neck.
