  bua loi khai wahn

Thailand

Bua Loi khai wahn consists of the sticky rice sweetmeat called bua loi (fig.), which is made from sticky rice powder, and boiled in coconut milk, mixed with sugar and a raw egg.

This specific dish also has some other ingredients, such as sliced pumpkin (fak thong) and sliced Chinese water chestnuts (somwang). The egg is added raw and becomes hard as the coconut milk is boiled.
